Adding Students

Teacher students page with roster and student management actions

Individual Registration

The Add New Student dialog is a 3-step wizard.
1

Open the Students Tab

From your classroom workspace, open the Students tab and click Add Student.
2

Step 1 — Name

  • First Name (required)
  • Last Name (required)
3

Step 2 — Customize

  • Job (optional): Assign a paid classroom job from your job library
  • Group (Pro feature, optional): Add the student to a group
  • Avatar (optional): Upload an image or pick from the avatar library
4

Step 3 — Goal

  • Goal Amount (optional): A personal savings target shown on the student’s dashboard
5

Save

Click Add Student. The student appears immediately in your roster with their own QR-accessible dashboard.
New students automatically receive the Starting Balance configured on the classroom (if any). Starting balance is set when you create or edit the classroom — not on the per-student form.

Bulk Add

For adding entire class rosters quickly:
1

Open Bulk Add

Click Bulk Add in the Students header.
2

Enter Multiple Students

Type names into the quick-add rows. Each row creates one student.
3

Submit

All students are created at once with default settings. Edit individuals later for avatars, jobs, groups, or goals.
Bulk add is fastest for roster setup. You can always edit individual student details later.

Student Profile Information

Clicking a student opens their profile with tabs for everything tracked about them:
  • Avatar & Name
  • Current Balance
  • Personal Goal: Optional goal amount with progress bar
  • Quick action buttons for awarding or deducting points
  • Recent activity summary
Students have a unique short nano ID used in their dashboard URL and QR code. You can regenerate or print these from the QR Codes page — see QR Code Login.

Managing Student Balances

Whole-Class Awards

Award every student in the classroom at once.
1

Open the Classroom Workspace

Click your classroom from the dashboard.
2

Click Award All Students

The action toolbar at the top has an Award All Students button (Gift icon).
3

Pick an Amount and Reason

Use the Quick Amount buttons or type a custom amount, then choose a preset reason from the Academic / Social / Behavioral tabs or type Reason for Award manually.
4

Confirm

Every student in the class receives the same amount with the same reason. Confetti included.

Individual Awards & Deductions

1

Open a Student

Click a student card to open their profile.
2

Use Give Points or Quick Buttons

  • Quick action buttons apply preset positive or negative amounts in one click (configured in Quick Buttons settings)
  • Give Points opens a dialog with preset reasons (e.g., “Excellent participation”, “Helping classmates”) plus a Custom reason field and Amount
3

Confirm

The transaction is logged immediately and the student’s balance updates in real time.
Always include a reason for transactions — this maintains trust and provides valuable analytics data.
